Golfing and caddie background:
I was working at Copper Rock Golf Club in Hurricane, UT when the Epson Tour came through in April of 2022. As a former professional player myself, and knowing the course so well, I decided I wanted to help someone. I ended up caddying for Anita Uwadia and we finished 4th. It was such a natural niche for me, and I loved it. I was hooked on caddying from that point on.
What do you love about caddying?
I love being inside the ropes, competing for titles, being a difference maker, and a solid rock of comfort and expertise my player can depend always depend on.
Interesting caddie story:
I experienced golf burnout after senior year of high school and chose not to play golf in college. I passed up on some scholarship opportunities to take a different path at Arizona State University. After 2 years of college in Tempe, I got the itch back to compete. I rebuilt my game and won a big amateur event over the summer in Central Oregon between sophomore and junior year of college. I transferred to Univ of Houston who told me they’d take a quick look at me as a walk on and let me qualify for the team. I packed everything and went to Houston with no guarantees, leased an apartment, started classes, and showed up for tryouts. I succeeded and made the team and ended up playing college golf after all, and for a prestigious program with a decorated history.
